Pain In The MySpace

Honestly, I’ve been trying to register an account on MySpace for someone for the last hour with an email address, trying varying rotations of their home country, language selection, password and their idiotic captcha (which doesn’t offer plaintext or audio support) and EVERY time I’m left with

We’re sorry. Based on the information you have submitted to us, you are ineligible to register on MySpace.com.

You’d think they were just trying to stop people signing up. Too many members…

Update: over 3 hours since I’ve started, I’ve been able to register. MySpace registration downtime? No alerts within the site itself from what I could see…

It is a bad site for that, all these technical errors where you’re assured that your problem has been forwarded to the MySpace technical team yet you don’t know whats going on at all! Keep trying though…. or just walk away, make a coffee, and come back again 🙂

  9. Ken McGuire April 11, 2007 at 8:57 am

  15. Ken McGuire July 18, 2007 at 9:33 am

I guess the only thing you can do is be patient. I’d wonder if those ‘technical errors’ actually ever do get reported.

  16. Millie August 9, 2007 at 7:54 pm

I’m guessing no, since it’s August and the same error message keeps coming up when I try to register a site for my store. Arrgh!

  17. Kathleen August 15, 2007 at 9:37 am

man oh man i’m having the EXACT same problem… at first I thought I was doing something stupidly wrong… THANK GOODNESS I found others are having the same frustrating problem.

This is a joke. I’m heading to facebook. haha.

I’ve been trying for 24 hours, and I still can’t create a myspace account for my daughter. I even tried to create one for me, and it give me the same F*?kin error.

  20. Ken McGuire November 1, 2007 at 12:34 am

I tried again at the weekend and ran into the same problem. I wound up registering with Canada as my country, entered a Toronto zip code I found online, registration was accepted and once logged in I changed my location no problem.

Roundabout way of creating an account but it worked no problem.

  21. Tommy Lee November 24, 2007 at 3:41 am

  28. Price Vixen May 8, 2008 at 8:29 pm

I had the same problem with Youtube, finely afetr half a year i got in. Dont know how, but i think it was because i needed to make a account with google, because youtube and myspace are powered by google. I made an account there and all of a sudden they let me in. But yesterday i wanted to get in myspace again so i login to google, and go back to myspave but it said,We’re sorry. Based on the information you have submitted to us, you are ineligible to register on MySpace.com. Ahhhhh! i give up! well not really i’m not i giver upper, but it is getting to be the point where i might give up! i will still keep trying, like i did with Youtube. So dont give up, People!

I hate this i’ve tried for days but nothing works can somebody help me i really want a myspace

  30. LaTisha June 10, 2008 at 11:28 pm

Myspace sometimes flags users who they think might be lying about their age or registered sex offenders. Myspace gives you 24 hours usually, sometimes more. If you put in the same info, it will just keep blocking you. If you change it, it will usually let you in. If you continue to attempt signing up, it will just keep blocking you. Myspace says you’re IP address for 24 hours, so don’t try signing up for a while, unless you decide to sign up with another computer. Hope I helped!

Well, I’ve been trying to get a Myspace account using my gmail account and it keeps rejecting it with that dumb message. I wonder if certain email providers are a red flag with them?

    WOOOT! it actually WORKED!!!

  43. O January 6, 2009 at 1:03 am

I had the same problem. I think it’s b/c MySpace identifies your IP address (or some other significant information of yours) as already being linked to a myspace. To prevent you from creating several pages they block your Ip from being able to create an account.

  44. Chase March 12, 2009 at 11:34 pm

how did you get it to work

  45. Booker May 31, 2009 at 9:34 pm

Try switching browsers. Firefox didn’t work for me. Safari did. Good luck.

    p.s. myspace sucks anyway

  46. tracy June 17, 2009 at 9:52 pm

it wont let me in i tried it for days

  47. Jack July 31, 2009 at 1:40 am

Chances are you’re under the required age for Myspace. If you go back and try changing your age and trying again, it still won’t work because it’s saved the cookies and such. Delete your cookies (go to Internet Options, or something of that sort depending on your computer and browser) then try again, being sure to use an age over the requirement the first time.

  48. will August 5, 2009 at 3:34 pm

I used Safari and got in straight away after hours of trying on Mozilla.

    Hope it helps.

  49. JoeyJ September 26, 2009 at 1:11 pm
